    Hi,

I’m using latest version of this plugin and ACF Pro.

I added two new widgets on a subsite in a wordpress multisite installation.

When in a new field group (after 2 widgets excists) select the rule for widget (one trough form other trough same name widget) end up in the same rule with on the third (right) dropdown only Widget as selection option. But should in this dropdown not the name of the custom new two widgets show up?

    Help – new user,
    Kind regards

    Hi,
Can you provide some screenshots of your setup? I’m having a hard time visualizing what you are referencing.

    Cheers!

I don’t know if it helps, but the two ACF plugins (pro and widgets) are enabled on the sub-site (not network-wide).

Should these 4 groups not show/pop-up on the drop-down of the ACF widget?

And I noticed a typo in my own title of this topic, should be ‘custom widget groups not showing up’.

    With kind regards,

Apologies for the late reply. I have been moving this past week and that’s always time consuming!

So from what I think is going on, it appears you have a Group field (?) assigned to your widget.

ACF Widgets are basically meant to be another place to insert data via the ACF interface. So just like you would add fields to a post/page, you can also add fields to these custom widgets you create on the fly.

However, you don’t need to use ACFW to add fields to any other widget since that functionality is built into ACF.

I’m still not entirely sure what your question is, but hopefully my explanation helps you figure it out. Maybe if you explained exactly what you are trying to achieve (with bonus photos) I may be able to offer some more insight.

Thanks for supporting the plugin regardless!

What I thought this plugin would do (and what I would like to complete), is to add additional fields or custom-post relation fields to a custom-post type. I would like to use the widget to display this additional info on the front page.

The ACF-groups are created with custom_post_type_name widget_acf_group_name grouping in mind. One custom-post type can have a group of text fields and a acf-group of related other post-types fields.

I would like to display the ‘related custom-post types acf-group’ and ‘custom text fields acf-group’ in a widget on the custom-post page.

But that is what I would like to Complete with this widget, Here is where I think I get stuck….
This is the rule for the widget selection, the custom widget exists but no ‘selection’ can be found only ‘Widget’

Or is my way of thinking incorrect? I’m not a ACF PRO due that I use ACF PRO….
