    Hey there,

Just bought a lifetime license for this and had a couple questions.

    1. I’m unable to create new topics under priority support after logging in on the support page
    http://grab.by/QkZu – Username is hirejordansmith
    2. I’m having a plugin conflict of some sort with this. Not sure exactly
what the root is. I’m using Max Mega Menu on the site in question and set
up the widget per your video. It’s working as expected when I output in the
primary sidebar but when I try to add the widget to the mega menu, I get
the no fields message – http://grab.by/QkZI – even though the fields
actually do show up below (with some issues). Here is a video of my setup
    -> http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cDh0YYifiq

If you want to poke around, the wp-admin logins are

    username: admin
    password: 9J79rJ1Qjk1kn&D63W*p5yuB

Let me know if I can provide you with any more detail or if you need ftp
    or anything like that. Thanks!

Hey Jordan. I think I see what is going on here.

Apologies about the priority support, I’m working that bug out too and should have it fixed soon. The lifetime license is a new thing I just started so there was bound to be a kink.

So it seems like the widget is getting rendered correctly but a JS file isn’t getting enqueued. Should be easy to figure out I think.

Does the widget work as normal otherwise though? Values are saved and you can access them?

One last thing, if you could edit your OP and add the website credentials to a private reply, that should keep strangers from logging in to your site! These are public forums so folks can see other solutions before posting.

Cheers and thanks for supporting the plugin!

The forum edit links might not be available to users. It’s all good.

So, here’s a slight problem, if the values are not being saved, there could be an lack of compatibility with ACF and the Mega Menu plugin. You’ll need to do a few things to verify.

    1. Add some fields to a non custom widget (ie, the text widget or the meta widget).
    2. See if the values from those are saved in the mega menu plugin. I’m willing to bet they won’t be. That leads me to a couple of points below…

ACFW is at the end of the day a clever wrapper and abstraction ACF v5 and it’s widget capabilities. If ACF doesn’t support it, then we have to get into hacking/modifying ACF in ways that may not be sustainable (not to mention I end up supporting a plugin I didn’t write), which isn’t fair to my customers.

In some cases, these gaps can be closed using a simple action/filter and a 5 line function. Past that though, I’m not comfortable writing any major functionality fixes for ACF and other plugins. One major example of this is using ACF/ACFW with page builders. It’s not supported with plain ole ACF so I don’t support it either. Not to mention it would be a nightmare to coordinate between all the different page builder plugins out there!

So if we can fix this with just a few lines of code, cool. Hopefully that’s the case. I realize every project is different for some people and unfortunately even ACF can’t be the tool for every job.

Let me know if a default WP widget works with the ACF fields and we’ll go from there. If you can post another private reply with a .zip to the mega menu plugin, I think that’s all I will need to debug things. If I have problems replicating, I’ll login to your site and poke around.

Also, you should be able to log out and log back in and have access to the priority forums. There was a hook that needed to be updated for the lifetime tier.

For organizational purposes though, we can keep using this thread.

I ended up just doing what I needed using the Image Widget plugin. Not as ideal or easy for the client as the custom widget but got the job done so I could move on. Looks like I won’t be needing the ACF Widget on this site but I’ll go ahead an keep the license in case I ever have a use for it. Thanks man!

Closing this thread. Glad you got something figured out 🙂
