ParticipantHello,
When adding any widget to my site footer, ACFW outputs “Looking for template: widget-image.php”. This happens for all widgets. The only thing that makes the error go away is disabling ACFW. See:
Can you fix this in a next version?
Many thanks in advance

ParticipantI have a workaround now by commenting out line 97 of \includes\ACFW_Widget.php. The error you’re looking for is probably in that file.

KeymasterHmm that’s weird. It shouldn’t show that message for widgets that weren’t created from the plugin. Can you see if they’re still there with a default theme and no other plugins active?

ParticipantHi Daron, thanks for your reply. I’ve disabled all other plugins and switched to twenty nineteen theme. The issue is still there:

KeymasterThanks for doing that. I’ll take a look at it as soon as I can.

ParticipantHello Daron,
I’m curious, have you managed to take a look at this issue?
Thanks!

ParticipantHello Daron,
2 months later, still no response. I would really like to keep using your widget but this issue is a blocker. Can you check what causes it?
Thanks!
Rick

KeymasterHey Rick.
Sorry about that, your messages must have slipped through the cracks in my inbox. Thanks for reaching out again. Since nobody else had reached out about the same issue, I must have assumed you figured out whatever was going on.
Do you have the debugging option turned on in the plugin settings? I’m sorry I didn’t think of that first. That was an oversight on my part.
Sorry you’ve had this much trouble.

ParticipantHello Daron,
Thanks for getting back to me. Yes the debug option was on and that one also printed out the “looking for template…” line. Luckily that could be turned off 🙂
I’ve noticed another minor annoyance. There’s an empty update message below your plugin in the plugin overview. See:
I see this is because you use an old updater class copied from Easy Digital Downloads. Why do you use that one without even changing the text domain to acf widgets?
